Broke Into Cars.
The case that Is occupying the cir
cuit court's attention today s that of
the State of Oregon against James
Plover, who is Jointly charged with
George Howell, with breaking into a
box car at Huntington and stealing
merchandise, says the Baker Herald.
Prosecuting Attorney W. !S. Levens
represents the state, and is assisted by
C. A. Johns, railroad attorney, with H.
E. Courtney defending those charged
with the crime.
There have been few cases that have
brought forth as large exhibits in the
way of testimony, for several boxesof
underwear and shoes that are alleged
to have been stolen by the two men.
Among the merchandise are several
suits of fine silk underwear, high
grade shoes and numerous other arti
cles. The prosecution seems to think
It has a clear case and no lack of ef
fort on Its part is being shown. j
