As a witness In the case of the State against . E. Lewis, charged with lar ceny, "Mike," the stolen animal show monkey, appeared at the court room this afternoon and amused all present with his cunning tricks. The monkey trial brought out a large attendance i of spectators. Several girls from the Nile were subpoenaed to testify re garding Lewis' offer to sell them the j monkey, and withal the surroundings Indicated a menagerie rather than a district court room, much to the ap ; parent discomfort of the Judge who is known to be an advocate of dignity. Baker Herald. South Baker Excited. A portion of South Baker was thrown Into a state of Intense excite ment this afternoon when Mrs. Lizzie Fuller placed a revolver in her grip and proclaimed to neighbors that she was going down town to kill her hus band. She came down town all right, and soon police officers were shadow tng har to prevent her from carrying out her threat. The Fullers have had more or less trouble In the recent past. It only being a short time since , the same woman made an unsuccessful at tempt to take her own life. Ctotliee Cleaned and Pressed.
