Seventeen to nothing waa the score; but every sub stitute that uroompanied the tearo to Union was given a try-out In the sec ond half or the score would have been materially greater than that. But the affair gave' the locals some splendid practice for the coming game of the season, with Pendleton. . Union won the toss and La Grande chose to defend the east goal and re ceive the kick-off. Reynolds ran the kick in about 20 yards. La Grande reached Union's 40-yard line, but lost on downs. On the next down a quar terback kick was gathered up by Rey nolds and he ran 65 yards for the first touchdown, having a perfect in terference that Union could not break. Myers kicked goal. Ahmit one-half of the first half was played in the of-nter of the field During the last four minutes of play La Grande carried the bail down the field 40 yards, by smashes across tackles and short end runs, and with two minutes left to play Heldenrelch .hnvorl over for the second touch down: Chllders kicked goal. The , second halt opened by La Qrande kicking to Union with but 10 vards return. 'Union was held and punted to center of field. Here La Grande attempted a forward pass, which fell short by about six Inches, and La Grande lost 15 yards for the incompleted pass. During about 10 minutes of play at this time, the ball was in La Grande territory, but the goal was never In danger. With eight minutes left "to play Bacon was shoved over for the third touchdown; Chllders failed at an easy goal. During the remainder of the game the ball was In Union territory, and when time was called It was but four feet from Union's goal In La Grande's possession. , - ' ' For La Grande Carpy made several 15 and 20 yard runs. Chllders played a good game. He was always assist ing the man with the ball and fre quentyl carried him from , three o five yards. Captain Myers played his best game of the season; Reynolds ran the team well; J. Williamson at rlht end. wn lwnv In th w some Union player and Helndenrelch made good gains, and , fine tackles, and time after time downed the run ner for loss. V. Bean demonstrated that he Is one of the best centers In eastern Oregon; Grout at right guard, L. Williamson at left guard, Ingle at right tackle, Geddes and left tackle, all outplayed their men. In the sec ond half Bacon played full, Earls at right tackle, Vern Bean at left guard and Rice atOeft tackle, all played better than they have played hereto fore. The boys speak complimentary of the treatment accorded them by Union. Notice of Final Aoocnnt. Notice Is hereby given to all con cerned that Mary E.
