Oliver, only recently out of the hospital after a serieus Ill ness. Is again suffering Intense pain, caused by blood poisoning. .A fow days ago she accidentally pricked her arm with a pin and from a trifling wound the. trouble spread until at present she Is In a critical condition. Dr. M. K. Hall was called after the infection had spread. She suffers much and Is yet In the danger period. Only recently she was able to leave her bed and was just settling Into her new home on Sixth street. HRST RIDE OflAIRI O. 3. Clark, a resident of Paradise, Wallowa county, arrived In La Grande Saturday evening. Mr. Clark came to this coast in 1864. and has been Just ahead of the '-railroad ever since. Therefore, his trip to La Grande gave him his first opportunity to ride on a railway train. Mr. Clark says his first experience was pleasant, and he Is not at all sorry that the Iron horse has caught up with him at last.
