Japan enthusiastically endorses call ing the oriental conference and will aid in bringing it about. A powerful association is being formed by most influential scholars and public men, to bring Japan and America to a closer understanding of the problems of the orient, under an agreement which might be known as the Japan-American alliance. Through this association it is probable the proposition to call a conference of England. America and Japan will be brought officially before the government. I wish to express through the United Press, to the peo ple of the United States, the great pleasure the visit of the fleet has given Japan.
