The Dalles ts organizing a city bas
ketball league along line similar to the
one being perfected In this cltyy ac
cording to the following from The
Dalles Chronicle: ,
Every one la the city, who to In
terested In basketball, whether hav
ing any previous experience ilri the
game or not," Is requested to meet at
the Baldwin hall this evening, at 8
o'clock, when Bteps will be taken to
form a city league. . -
The managers bt the basketball
team are anxious to get the city league
organized and aa many teams will be
formed as there are " men .available.
The league will be composed of the
men who report for practice this eve
ning. . " , ' ;r,
At the few practices already held,
the, men have turned out well and
there Is nuch promising material at
hand for a strong regular five and also
for the teams of the city league.
There may be comparative strang
ers In the city, who have not been
urged to report for basketball. If

wife went to Athena to visit with the
tatter's uncle, T. J. Kirk. They will
return tomorrow and will probably re
turn to Union in the evening. How
ever, should his services be needod
here, Mr. Wilbur says he will remain
until the work of financing the enter
