Baker City, Oct. 16.-The story from Sheridan, Wyo., printed yesterday, in which A. S. Burroughs, a painter, who has worked in Baker City at dlffesent times, stated that he knew who blew up Harvey Brown, has been augment ed by the police divulging the name of the man whom Burroughs;, accuses. MAIL SACK STOLEN. Was Taken From the O. R. N. Depot at The Dalles. A locked mall' sack was stolen the night of October 8, from the mall cart at the O. R. A N. depot, says The Dalles Chronicle. ' The O. R. ft N. messenger took the cart of mall from the postofflce to the depot for train No. , eastbound. He left the cart on the platform for a few minutes and went Inside the depot It Is presumed the mall sack was taken while he was Inside, It was a locked sack of regular mall, but the robber probably supposed by It being locked that It contained something valuable. When the messenger came out to W ill Play Football in Elgin. ' The first football game to be played In Elgin this season will occur tomor row afternoon, when the Cove high school eleven meets the . Elgin high school. The visiting team held ' La Grande dowri to a tie game last Sat urday and expect to easily defeat the locals. The' local eleven is composed of new players for the most part but they give promise of putting up a fast game.
