, Bruce Plaster, who was recently
seriously injured by falling from a
third-story window in Baker City, has
been in Union for some time, and Is
able to be up and around on crutches
and seems to be mending rapidly. ,
The five-months old daughter' of
Archie Vanorder of Medical Springs,
died Thursday night of last week. It
will be remembered that the child's

tent force of men have . made, good
headway on the Union bridge over
Catherine creek since they began, but
have been delayed some by. rains and
high water. The bridge will be com
pleted this week, however, and It will
be the best bridge that ever spanned
Catherine at this point.

stock and fixtures of H. C. Neely and
will continue the business at the same
old stand.
Glenn Graham left Saturday . for
Vale, where he Is to take charge of the
Union Pine Lumber company's yards
during Ira Messlnger's illness.
Miss Ida Hempe left 'Sunday for
Portland, where she will enter St.
Vincent's hospital to take the course
of training for a trained nurse.
J. W. Spray and family, who have
been visiting for the past month with
Mrs. Spray's sister, Mrs. Tom Brasher,
left Wednesday morning , tor ; their

Dr. Phy brought Andrew Wilkinson
home from Hot Lake Wednesday eve
ning. . Mr. Wilkinson Is very much

spent a few days of this week In La
Grande and other towns looking after
the potato market
Mrs. J. L. Overton, who has bean
visiting at the home of her parents in
Fulton, Mo., for the last month, re
turned home Saturday.
Mrs. O. A. Garner arrived down
from La Grande Saturday and visited
with relatives and friends In this city
during the week.
Mrs. J. W. Rhodes visited Monday
night with relatives in La Grande. She
was accompanied by her daughter,
Miss Beulah, who-wlll remain In that
city and attend the Sacred Heart
academy during the coming school
year.

left Saturday for Anaconda, Mont,
where they go to take part In the
Northwest Boosters'. association shoot
'which 'is being held at that place.

shots and we expect, to hear some good
reports from them.
