Gans was kept on the defensive. Nelson drove Cans' against ' the ropes and landed on the jaw. Gans sallied forth and gave Nelson as good a blow as he sent. He landed several right upper cuts to the head and jaw; Nelson went after his man with great fury, and landed several to the jaw. Gans looked a bit groggy as he wen( to his corner. This was ' clearly Nelson's round. . Rund 12 Nelson went right after Gans; Nelson swung left to ' Gans' head; Gans looking for chance to land body blows. Nelson left an opening and Gans shot a terrific right to the jaw. It was a heavy punch, but in no way stopped Nelson's wonderful slugging. , Nelson pressed Gans to the ropes nnd nearly sent him through with right and left swings to the Jaw. Gans hung on in desperation end at this stage looked like a de&"d man, His face bore marks of Nelson's many punches and he seemed content to hang on. ' .In the following round Nelson pranced to center and landed a vicious right to body. Cans' mouth bled. .Suddenly Gans caught Nelson with a right and loft to the mouth and blood ran from Nelson's mouth In streams. This was the second round In the fight that could be called even money. In the 16th, 17th, 18th. 19th and 20th it was the same old story. Nelson forc ing the fight throughout. Jfc the 21st round Nelson won tho fight with a knocKout.
