A little more enterprise, a little 'more money and the Pastime opens today with a brand new film service, whereby only first run pictures will be seen for the first time In La Grande. The first great picture la the "Base ball Fan," a match game Vtween the New York Americans versus me White Sox," the finest baseball teams In the world. Woman's Revenge la a beau tiful colored film and right up to date. This picture Is followed by Freedom for All, a great comedy. The head-liner is entitled "The Pa drone." dealing with the Padrone sys tem to be found In Italian colonies In our big cities. This is a truly great story with a complete lecture on the subject by Charles Baker. The Pas time also announces Mr. A. Hailing, In Illustrated songs. Mr. Hailing has been secured from the Sulltvan-Consl-dlne theatrical circuit and comes well recommended. He possesses a fine, deep baritone voice, which will be heard to advantage in his rendition of "Let Me Sleep In the Deep When I De" and 'The Old Rustic Bridge." Th Scenic Opening. The week opens strong at the Scenic theater. The highly excltina film picturing the practice of bandits In the mountains Is one that will draw well. American tourists are held by a gang of bandits and the harrowlne- experiences which these people had, la well told on the screen. The scenic views are better this time than usual. They tell the story of the battle of Manila bay and Include other Instruct ive views. The Girl Nihilist Is a story of the Russian blood-curdling strife 1 for liberty, true to life, and both in teresting and Instructive. ' At Uic Sherwood. The change for this evening Is an especially good one. There Is Just enough variety to give It spice. The head-liner. Living Posters, Is unique to say the least, and those who see It this evening will need to come again in order to figure It out to their com plete satisfaction. The comic num ber. "Weary Wiggles' Busy Day," Is one which brings smiles to all who se elt, and also make them wonder how It ever happened, anyway. The S'in are new nml the slides are spe ctn'iy attractive. The pictures nro all flenr nn 1 -ee from tremor. No eye-"tn-H at t'- "'-rwoo.1. This Is never any comn'nlrln-; r"'it poor pictures or Imi.n w.ilts i ti,,. :.r- WOlld. ( ariu-Klo Library.
