Is In full blast today. . Though there
have been many cries of short crops.
It must be admitted now that the
grain has started to fall ' before the
reaper, that the Imbler section of the
valley Is but a trifle behind the rec
ords of other years; It is the general
opinion that the fall wheat will aver
aft a good crop. Oats' Is' a trifle
short, but even that Is on a paying
basis. .
Thus, from all parts of the vulley
come similar reports. Admittedly, It
Is too early to ascertain positively what
the crop result will be, as the men who
really know are those who spent the
day In the field harvesting and they,
of course, could not be communicated
with during the hours of labor, jit Is
no Idle, Jest or assertion to say that
the crops this year In Union county
will be up to the average. In a few
days exact conditions can be ascertained.
