These five men were all highly recommend ed by Jack O'Brien and the letters In response are gratifying. The big need which McCredle faces is pitchers, and members of the Inland Empire league may be rounded up to fill temporary wants there. These men are Gregg of Baker City, and Etimke of Walla Walla. Both men are good fellows on the stellar mound, but what McCredle will do with them remains to be seen. Thoso who know the five former La Grande club member will await anx iously the outcome of the try-outs. They were competent here. In fact, too fast for the rest of the players In the league. A new league will be organized next season on a system which fore stalls any of the clubs from falling out before the end of the announced schedule. By each club being forced to- post tlOOO, the full length season will be assured. I will manage ene of the clubs and perhaps own one, and if I am connected with the La Grande club, you can rest assured I will bring home the pennant as was done this year. I am sorry to see the league break up so soon after all the effort I and the supporters In La Grande went to to perfect the Inland Empire league, and to place It under National league protection. I can say now, and always .have said, that there never was a cleaner crowd of young men gotten together as a baseball club, than the aggregation which wore La Grande colors this season. The pub lic will agree with me that it was hard, constant drilling that gave La Grande a winning team, but I am glad to have proven to the people that I made good, and that I can assu them the same success next yrr. promised a good team and I gave them the best club seen in thin section of the country. It proved a success from the opening day. JACK O'JJRIEN. 5 u.wiuvm & TO. AllAMH AVEXIE FOn RENT Suite front housekeep Ing rooms, including light and bath, 112-50.
