TOY BALLOONS MCST GO. ,
Danger of Grulu Klres Causes Ban to
Bo Plm-cil on Sjwrt.
Vigorous complaints are being made
against toy balloons at this' time of
the year because they are dangerous
from a fire starting standpoint. Sev
eral grain fires have already been
caused by, balloons, though they were
always found, fortunately. In time to
prevent serious conflagrations.
Today the attention of the mayor
and chief of police was called to the
practice of sending up toy balloons,
and Mr. Murphy asas that tne sport
be given up by the boys. Should the
request not be compiled with stringent
steps will be taken to stop It Pendle

During the past week considerable

There Is a movement on foot,
backed by good, substantial men, for
the construction of a wagon road to
I. H. Latham's ferry In Idaho. The
construction of this road to the ferry
would be a great yidvantngo to this
section of the country. There are a
great number of families across the
river In Idaho, who have to go 20 or
80 miles to trade at Cambridge, Idaho,
who would come to Richland if this
road was constructed. Let us hope
that this movement will be success
ful, as It will be a big Item for our
town. Eagle Valley News.
