The Incandescents used In illum
inating the streets' the night of the
Fourth will be burning - tonight and
from now on. More will be added as
soon as Mr. Housh can arrange to
have the work done, and the wiling
now up will be re-arranged. What
was done for the celebration was
meant only to stay up the one night,
and to turn the lights on and off ne
cessitated a good deal of extra work.
Lots of people will be down town
tonight In order to enjoy the festal
appearance of the streets and to at-.
tend the electric shows, which ore
both equipped with electric fans and
are nice places to spend an hour.
Both Mr. Sherwood and Mr. Wilson,
good percentage of their receipts
for the next week to the lighting fund
and are deserving ot extra pairouage

INLAND EMPIRE BASEBALL
(Continued from pag X.)
disappears after tomorrow, there will
be high class baseball between the La
Grande and Baker City aggregations
for a period of six weeks, three series
at each town. Of course, this will not
be under league protection, but It will
be fast ball and something worth go
ing to see. Final arrangements for
this deal will be made tomorrow.
There Is a slight chance of the scheme
falling through today, but it appears
certain.
In the game today and the games
tomorrow there may be a wholesale
shifting of positions. The other throe
teams ate in such relative position
that a string of victories by one and
of losses by the others 'will change
the standing materially. It is only to
be expected that the game tomorrow
will be hard fought. Walla Walla
won from Pendleton yesterday after
noon by a score of 4 to 3.
