Alvah Duryea,' who for the past 19 months has been an employe of the Southern Pacific at Fresno, Cal., ar rived in La Grande yesterday, to at tend the wedding of his sister, Juanita, to M. A. Stilwol, which will take place this evening at 8 o'clock. The ice manufacturing plant and the cold storage, machinery for the Grande Ronde Meat company's new plant, though delayed for many days. Is ex pected here shortly. Experts will come with it to set it up and the company expects soon to have Its plant In working order. ; U. G. Brustl of this city, through his attorneys, Lomax & Anderson of Baker City, has filed suit against the O4 R, & N. company, 'asking for J-j,-000 damages aa the result of Injury sustained from a fall from the foot board of a locomotive In January, 1907, while engaged In washing the boiler of the locomotive. The com plaint alleges that the railroad com pany was negligent, and that no hand, rail,- such as is usual alongside loco. motive hollers, was provided; that as a result the plaintiff sustained a fall, and that his leg was broken and had to be amputated; that ever since he has suffered great pain and mental anguish and is permanently disabled Brasel fell from the running board of the locomotive boiler of which he was engaged in washing, on January 22. 1907. Olllllan per forming the ceremony. ' - Alvah Duryea will give the bride away. 'Winnie Ormond is to be bridesmaid and Waller Bunker will act as 'best man. Mrs. Sherwood Williams will play the wedding march. , ' The bride will wear white crepe de chine over white silk and her veil caiicht in place by orange blossoms. The groom will appear In a Bult of black. The church and home are dec orated in a profusion of flowers. After the ceremony a reception will be held from 8:30 to 10:30 at the home of the bride's mother, 1910 Sec ond street ' Light refreshments will be served. Many beautiful presents have been received. The young people are both very well known In this city.
