Evory month the . magazines pub lished for nrrrrTT-",,"lo p""" page to artioles on beauty culTuTer telllng how to Improve the face and figure. . The manufacturers of face creams, lotions and cosmetics spend hundreds of thousands of dollars telling woman i.ow she can . beautify herself. It would take a hundred papers as big M today's Telegram to print even a part of all these "Beauty Talks," but probably the meat sensible of the many formulas and receipts given by the beauty specialists is a simple wash that can easily be prepared by any woman in her own kitchen. The fol lowing are the directions for making: Obtain at your drug store, Rose Water, two ounces; Cologne Spirits, one ounce; Eppotone (skin food), four ounces. Put the Eppotone In a pint of hot water (not. boiling), and after dissolved, strain and let cool. Then add the Rosa Water and the Cologne Spirits. It Is gratifying to know, says the Raker City Democrat, that the Indiana Mining company, under the manage ment of J. Wj Messner, Is meeting with splendid success In the operating of Its property at the head of Grande Hondo river. With a new mill In operation for the past two weeks, and In continuous operation, s large amount of concen trates Is being turned out, and a force of SO miners are pushing ahead for ore reserves that Insure a long and profituble mill run. . Mr. Messner . Is certainly accom- pllxhlng great things, and the energy he has displayed In the Interest of his company la deserving of all the suc cess that Is coming to him. Good Substitute, On on of the southern railroads there Is a station building that Is com monly known by travelers as the smallest railroad station In America. It Is of this station that the story Is told that an old farmer was expecting a chicken house to arrive there, and he sent one of his hands, a new comer, to fetch It Arriving there, the man saw the house, loaded It on his wagon and started home. On the way he met a man In uniform with the worda "Station Agent" on his cap. "Say, hold on. What have you got on that wagon?" he asked. "My chicken house, of course," was the re ply. "Chicken house be Jiggered!" exploded the official. 'That's the sta tion!" The Argonaut. Facts. Deposits In the postal savings banks of Japan now exceed 145,000,000. Manchuria already receive 1000 cable messages a day from Japan. The doubling of the cables Is probable. Here ar some Interesting figures given by the New York Herald for users of gas meters. In three months out of 2805 meters tested, after com plaint, S24 were correct, 1820 were fast and 111 were slow. There are now not far from 10,000 miles of railroad under block slarnal operstlon, nearly 10,000 miles of which have been added within a year and a half.
