PORTLAND &a IVssM "Eruption of Vesuvius." , The reservations for seats and boxes for Paln'a fireworks spectacle, "Erup tion of Vesuvius," began yesterday morning, says the Oregonian, at the downtown office, northeast corner of Sixth and Alder. Much Interest Is being shown in this new production of the fireworks king, and It Is pre dicted that large audiences will be assembled at Multnomah Athletic field to witness the seven performances, the first of which Is next Saturday night The athletla field Is rapidly under going a great transformation In prep aration for the mounting of the big sceneries and buildings which picture the city of Naples with the bay and frowning volcano In the background. Another carload of fireworks has ar rived and the pyrotechnlo force Is al ready on the field with - numerous tents and sheds for the construction of the large set pieces and special de signs, which will be changed from night to night In the fireworks pro gram, following the destruction of the mimic city.
