Hi TWELVE
REPORTED
Only a mere dozen have reported to
Agent Keeney of their Intention of
attending the Rose festival at Port

this request, train service will be Inad
equate during the days of the rush.
The. O. R. N. is willing to provide
for sufficient accommodations if those
contemplating the trip will notify the
agent at once. It is generally conced
ed that close to SO, at least, are plan
nlng on going to Portland during the
first week of June, and accommoda
tions will be cramped unless the com'
pany it given information which will
enable the mto provide the best possi
ble accommodations. Any Observer
reader who thinks of going to. Port
land that week will confer a favor on
the O. R. A N. and on himself If he
will notify the agent of his Intentions.
Naff Bed Rader Scouting.
"U. C." Rader, scout of the Pen
dleton baseball team of the Inland
Empire league, was scurrying around
tho metropolis Tuesday looking for a
shortstop for the Wheatvllle nine. "U.
C." was very anxious to steal Asher
Houston from the West Portland team
of the Trl-Clty league, and Asher
seemed willing to be pilfered. Hous
ton will make a nice addition to the
Pendleton bunch. Incidentally, "U.
C." did some tall kicking when Pluve
butted Into affairs out at Vaughn
street; he wanted to see a big game
before beating It back to the sage
brush. Portland Journal.
