Killed.
Twq special nuisances In lawns are
dandelions and plantln. The tests made
at the North Dakota experiment sta
tion have given good results In kill
ing these pests by spraying. It re
quires perslBtent work, but if a lawn
is sprayed once each month, or once
In six weeks, the dandelion Is kept
completely In check. As seeds are
blown to great distances by the wind,
the destruction of the established root
docs not Insure future freedom from
the pest, but spraying' is -the easiest
nnd most effective method of keep
ing the dandelions down, which has
yet been found. Use Iron sulphate In
the proportion of two pounds for each
gallon of water. Do not spray within
two days of the time of cutting an
ilo not cut the grass or water the lawr
for two or three days after spraying.

Macon, Ga., May 13. Georgia re
publicans, both white and black; are
gathering In Macon today for the statr
convention of the party, which will
be held tomorrow nnd which will nom
inate a state ticket nnd elect four del
egates at large to Chicago. Although
President Roosevelt has been Indorsei"
by the state committee and a move
ment has been set on foot to demnnc"
Ills nomination for a "second eleetlvi
term," it Is likely that the negroes wlb
oppose any attempt to Instruct the del
egates for Taft. The Georgia disfran

ilemned by the stute committee. Dp-,-iplto
this, the negro wing of the party
has Issued a call in which the com
mittee Is declared to be "dominatei

"The physicians seem to be divided
with regard to the young man's suc

the interest he has aroused Is but a
passing fad that will die out as Quickly

In a statement recently obtained
