Pendleton Orator Will Spend Three
Weeks on the Stump for Cake.
' Judge Stephen A. Lowell of Pendle
ton, one of the best platform orators
on the Pacific coast, has engaged with
the republican state central commit
tee to make a three weeks' tour of
the state on a speech-making tour of
the state for the republican ticket,
from H. M. Cake, the republican sen
atorial candidate, down to the end of
the ticket
Judge Lowell will leave Pendleton
about May 15 for Wheeler, Sherman
and other Interior counties, where he
will open his campaign and from there
will perhaps go to southern Oregon,
and during the next three weeks fol
lowing will cover practically all of the
state for the party candidates.
That a united and vigorous cam
paign will be made by the republican
party fop all of the candidates is now
shown by the number of speakers
who are engaged for the field work.
Aside from Judge Lowell other promi
nent orators from the state will take
the stump, and It is quite probable
that several prominent members of
congress from the east will be brought
to the state for a few addresses before
the close of the campaign.

RECOIU-BIlEAIUXG PIANO SALE.
Davis-Jordan Muslo Co.'s Store the
BuKlcst Place In Town.
...... r r !
Piano buyers realize that purchasing
during this sale means gold dollars
saved. Yesterday, a buyer who chose
Kimball piano saved 1112 on his pur
chase. One to whom we sold a Hobart
M. Cable, saved $90. Another who
bought a Marshall & Wendel Is just
$65 ahead on his purchase. Tomor
row we offer a fine high grade piano
that sells regularly at $425 for $298.
Another standard make, used a short
time, you can have for $163. There's
a reason for these low prices. We have
withdrawn from the Davis-Jordan
Music Co, and are going out of the
retail business In La Orande. We pre
fer to sell this stock of pianos at al
most factory cost rather than ship
them back to Portland. Every instru
ment guaranteed by both the factory
and EUers' Piano House. If you do
not take advantage of this money-saving
opportunity you alone will be the
loser. Open evenings.
