The meeting waa opened by a song service after which the choir sang. The Way ot the Cross Leads Home." Prayer waa then offered by Revs. Deal and Olbson. The Scripture lesson was the parable of the talents. The preacher said that It Is Just as Important that the clock strike one, aa that It strike 11. It Is aa much a duty to Improve me one talent as to Improve the five. The hold which the meeting Is get ting upon the people was shown by the fact that though It was Monday evening, yet a larger audience was present than at any . previous week day evening. The subject of this af ternoon's Bible reading was "Hln- d ranees to Prayer." The text for the evening was. "Is It Well With Thy Soul 7" 3d John, 2d - it u uirauud not often askeri on the streets. An Interest In men's soul's la of more Importance than In terest In the city. Interest In business, In schools. In everything else. The biggest fool In the world Is he who has to make the long, long Journey and makes no preparation. There Is no telling when you must make the Journey. It Is moral suicide not to get ready now. 1 It Is manly to care for your soul. The best and bravest men In the world are Christians. It la a duty and no brave man shrinks from duty. No man can give one single good reason why he should not be a Christian, but scores why he should. Everything a man has Is loaned to him and he owes It to the giver to use It well. Ingratitude Is one of the basest of crimes and yet that Is the sin of the man who does not care for his soul. ' The fact that every man has Influ ence should make him care for his soul. Not only will a man reap what he sows, but he will also reap what his Influence causes others to sow You can't bo honest with yourself, you can't be honest with those who look up to you unless you are a Christian. Father, your children are walking In your steps. Whither do those steps lend? For the sake of all whom you love, see to It that your footsteps lead to the land of night and not to the land of darkness. ! In response to the invitation given for the first time, about a dozen per osns went forward for prayer. A very earnest altar service was held. different persons 'traveling or ship ping; freight over plaintiffs road may be accommodated; and public Inter est requires the construction of such side tracks, additional switching fa cilities and repair shops and the pros ecution of said enterprise, and for an assessment of all the damages that will result to the said defendants, John Eastlack, Susan Eastlack, Alon ro Crane, Ethel Crane, Alfred W.
