In ad dition to the ' 200 or more children, the- O. A. R. and W. R. C. members were out In "strength and many others attended. Director Henry Henson In a brief address, stated the objects of the occasion. The opening number of the school exercises was a Song en titled, "Oregon, My Oregon," Which filled the large auditorium of the big new building. This was followed by a number of well rendered recitations, dialogues and songs, which were en Joyed by the young and the old. At the conclusion of the school ex ercises a number of short talks were Slven by Director Ivanhoe, Revs. King Gibson. Crooks and Seemann, and others. , . The O. A. R. planted the four ever green trees in the front and the school six. The balance of the 80 trees will be planted by a nurseryman. This day will always be a monument In the memory of the little ones who participated, and as each year passes the trees will furnish continual re minder of the work they did on Arbor day, April 10, 1 0 8.
