This commanding personality had a magnificent physique. He stood over six feet in his stockings, was re markable for horsemanship, agility and strength the finest gentleman and athlete of his day. His constitution was of iron and he knew how to keep it so. His bi ographers declare that in eating and in drinking as in all things he was normal; enjoying the juice of the malt all the days of his life. He drank it around campf ires, as well as in his own home and upon social and state occasions. Furthermore, upon his Mount Vernon plantation he had a brew house, as was the regular custom of wealthy Virginians. "In Virginia the rich, colonial brewed bear from melt Imported from England." WATER II 1 The long drawn out and extremely edlous water, suits conducted at the county court house before Referee lanna for the past several weeks, are tearing the end. Today, after a lhort recess, the testimony was again esumed when the La Grande Irrlga lon company presented Its first tes- Imony. Aside from this one, there ire only two defendants left: the May 'ark Water company and the May r.rk Ditch company. When the tes Imony for these two firms and the ne now under hearing, are Intro luced, the record-breaking hearing vlll come to an end. The attorneys In the case are weary with their 4ask. Day after day, the hearing has been going on and naturally much of the testimony Is rehash. However, the students of Blackstone have a little njoyment. When temporary recesses ire taken, attorneys and spectators ire grilled on statement No. 1 and ither topics and questions of much magnitude.
