Harvey Grout of Clover creek, returned to his home Sunday morning after spending the week with friends and relatives In La Grande. 'Mr. and Mrs. George Hanson, Jr.. and daughter Elnora, spent last week In La Grande with Mr. and Mrs. B. G. Frltta. They returned to North Pow der Sunday evening. Mrs. E. W. Barnes and daughter and son returned to North Powder after an extended visit with Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hunter at Island City. Miss I. F. Roberts, editor of the North Powder News, returned to her home Sunday after spending a few days In La Grande. Mrs. Emma Galloway, president ot the Rebekah assembly, la here today and a big banquet was given In her honor Monday night. Miss Emma Clark left Sunday to ac cept a position as seamstress in a store at Ontario. The Royal Neighbors will give a basket supper Friday night at the hall. The proceeds of the evening will be given to Mrs. Ed Ledbetter, who Is at Hot Lake, where she recent ly nuderwent an operation. Mr. and Mrs. Sid Glbbs and family have moved from their ranch near North Powder, and will soon move to Seattle, where they expect to make their future home. J. P.
