PALMER C0IMPAWY DEPARTMENT eeeeeeeeeesese MARKET DAT A SUCCESS It Is estimated that 400 outside people attended the 4hlrd market day held In this city today and the sales were the most successful and interest Ing yet held, states the Pendleton East Oregonian. , About $5000 worth of property, mostly livestock, was sold at good prices and the bidding was the most spirited and active seen at any of the sales. The auction started at 10 o'clock this forenoon and during the forenoon all the buggies, wagons, hacks and other smaller articles were sold, leav ing the livestock for the afternoon. When 1 o'clock arrived and Col. J M. Bentley, as auctioneer, announced that the sale was on, over 60 head of horses, mares and Jacks were listed with Clerk Lee Mporhouse. All of the stock listed at this sale was of large size and extraordinary quality and the prices were high from the start. .
