REFORM LEAGUE MEETS.
Baker City Ministers Received Anony
mous Letters Recently.
The clvlo reform league met in the
Methodist Church Sundav afternnnn
with a very large attendance and
added 21 new members to their list ot
membership, says the Baker City
Democrat- The membership now
numbers 100. There were several
very Interesting speeches and the cli
max was reached when Dr. Hayden
announced two anonymous letters,
nne of a threatening character and
the other couched In language unfit
for the press. No fear need be an
ticipated from these letters, but It Is
unpleasant to receive them. If it is
the purpose of the sender to defeat
any of the work now being under
taken by the league he has simply in
tensified the seal of the league to re
store municipal purity In Baker City.
There will be meetings every Sunday
afternoon.
