Snook today dictated letters to Pendleton, Walla Walla and Baker City officials, to obtain figures with which to compare the cost of street lights. Figures and data so obtained will be compared with those now being paid by the city of La Grande to the Grande Ronde Elec tric Light company. The athtletlc event of the winter In eastern Ore gon high school circles will be the basketball game which Is to be played In this city on Friday evening, Febru ary 14, between the University of Oregon's fast team and the Pendleton high school team. Arrangements for this Important game are now being made by the lo cal team and is being looked for ward to with intense interest. Since the U. of O. team is one of the strongest on the coast, this contest will have much to do with fixing Pendleton's place In basketball cir cles of the state. The local team has arranged for one game each week during the re mainder of the winter, games now scheduled being those with the Walla Walla high school team on Saturday, February 22, and with the Spoknne high school team on Friday, February 28.
