La Grande Oregon. 4 BIG SMILE Buster, the little philosopher and child of nature, heartily favors his sister's sweetheart. - Such Is the situation when the COM mittee of great men, genuine pillars In the party, arrive at the Buster Brown mansion to notify the mer chant that thy propose to nominate him for the highest Office Id the town mayor of Brownsville. Buster, In his father's absence, re celves the committee so wonderfully and made so fine a speech, full of pathos and shrewdness, that the great men are completely won over to the boy. Buster, with Madonna-like eyes and a modest, appealing look, sets forth the noble qualities of the young man who aspires to his slater's hand so eloquently, that the committee promises to make him the candidate for mayor. The story of the reception gets out, Buster's pictures are displayed in the windows, and the rood oM rtntrh town of Brownsville rings with ap proval at the committee's choice. The campaign now opens with a hurrah. Ginger eloquence and fireworks make the old town as lively as a Christmas candy shop and Buster Brown's sis ter's young man is elected by a rous ing majority. Results: Every one rejoices. Buster Brown is praised. and petted. His big little heart swells with emotion, and tears are in his eyes when he, winks at Tlge. A grand family reunion follows and they feed rige on porternouse Bteak tor a month. The part Buster Brown Is taken by a little 32-inch chap known as Mas ter Reed, who has attained national fame. ' He Is considered a wonder In his Impersonation of Buster Brown, as Mr. Outcalt has created him in the Sunday comic supplement. In the support of Master Reed, Edwin Lamar, the great English animal Im personator will be seen as "Tlge," while Miss Alice Mortlock the stage's most natural child Impersonator will appear as "Mary Jane." The sup porting company, the largest and most carefully selected cast that this mirth-provoking musical comedy has enjoyed. New scenery and beautiful costumes together with full 20 new musical numbers that are really worth whistling, make "Buster Brown" welcome visitor and one that will be enjoyed by all ages and all eyes.
