legislature may legally sit. The fact is,
a legislature might remain in session for
the entire twelve months in a year and its
I acts would be as legal as tho confined to
the forty days. The constitution merely
saVs that the'entire per diem of a mem-
har shall not amount to more than $120
for any one session, and as $3 a day it
is easily figured out that after forty days

Many times an extra day has been
added' to the length of the session it
will be done this time and the acts of

of the first. Under the proposed
amendment, it carried, the session may
