STUDENT BUILDING A rally was held at the college Armory last Friday night to reorganize the work or raising funds for the comnletinn th student building, which was begun a year ago. apeecnes by Professors and prom inent students were feat-res of the pro gram, and aroused considerable enthus iasm, with the result that $2200 was raised that evenirg. A few morn ngs aier iuuu was raised by the cadet reg ment and this now completes the $17,600 which is required to pay for he building This build-ng will be a students' building housing the various college societies and having offices for the Y M C A and Y W C A. besides various other conveniences. Tnis w,ll be the first college student bunding in the northwest, and the students feel proud of the fact that they are leading the way. OUR MUSEUM The 4th floor of the Agricultural Hall is almost utilized as the College Museum. in mis spaciou apartment which is be yond all doubt the most beaut:ful to be uiiua ,n any 0t tne building, is being in stalled among the fine specimens already there, the late work of Prof. Shaw. Prof Shaw was one of the party from the college that made a tour of Easter,: Ore gon last summer on scientific pursuit. The results of his labors on this trip' was to return with about 7S HirTr. . u j . specimens or oiras. 50 of which were entirely to the former collection in the museum There are over 200 H:fTr.t be found m the museum well mounted and labeled. Of these there are 1 75 different species. Nature is so nearly imitupH th.t one almost imagines they are among live oiras. This is cons.dered one of the finest and most complete museums on the Pacific coast and much appreciation is due Prof Shaw for his unceasing labors.
