hand which indicate an unusually lane
attendance at the thirty-ninth annual con
vention of the National American Woman
Suffrage Association, whicn will hold its
sessions in this city durins the five davs
beginning next Thursday. Many noted
speakers will be heard on th subject of
woman's rights.
At th initial session Mrs. Charles Hen
rotin will preside, and the topic will be
Municipal Suffrage for Women." At the
first evening meetins Mavor Dunne will
welcome the visitors and President Anna
Howard Shaw will deliver the annual ad
dress. At the Friday afternoon svitido
ium the subject will be "Industrial Con
ditions for Wom.n and Children." Th
sessions will be held in Music Hall, Fine
Arts building, and during the week the
delegates will pay visits to Hull House
ine university of Chicaso and various
other institution in and about th city.

Newberry started for New Orleans to
day on his annual trip of inspection of
the Southern navy yards and station.
After examimmg the Aleiers naval
station, near New Orleans, he will em
bark on the Mayflower and proceed to
Pensacola, Key West and Guantanamo
to inspect the naval station theie. On
the way northward he will touch in at
Port Royal and Charleston, S. C.
