Thacity of La Grand do ordain as follow: Section 1 That a lvy of vn mill on th dollar be, and th sam is hereby mad upon all th property within th said city assessed during th year 1906, for Stat and County purpose to b used and expended for paying municipal and current expenses for th yar 1907. Section 2 That a special tax of fiv mill on th dollar be. and th mi is hereby levied upon all th property within said city assessed for Stat and County purpose for th year 1906, to be used in paying interest on th bonded indebted ness of said city during th year 1 907, and estimated at $4500. Section 5 That a poll tax of Z i hereby levied upon ach male inhabitant of said city over th ag of twenty-on yenrs and under the age of fifty years said poll tax to b used and set apart for the purpose of improving and workir.g the streets and highways within the corporate limits of said city. Section 4 That the Recorder be. and he is hereby instructed and directed to make a report of said levies to the County Clerk of Union county, Oregon, on or be fore the 1st day of Januarv, 1907. Section 6 This ordinance shall be pub lished in one issue of the La Grande Even- ina uuwi of, a re''wr published witn- in the city of La Grande, Oregon, and be and remain in full force and effect from and after the 31st day of December, 1906. Passed by the Council of the city of La Grande, Oregon, on the 26th day of Dec ember, 1906, hy 5 councilman voting therefor and nocouncilmen voting against the same.
