He arrived this morning on passenger number I and was met by a large delegation of small cnildren. Regardless of the early hour, the little folks were out and thei- screams of de light coald be heard above the din and roar of the passing trains. St. Nicholas after shaking his head in appreciation of the cordial reception, pronptly took a cab for the Golden Rule store whore he was busy all day meeting the little folks of La Grande. . fLINERAL OF MARK BOYU Funeral sjrvices f r the late Mark Boyd were held at t' e residence of his sister. Mrs. A. G. Hemole Frid av after noon and were conducted by Re.. J. R. N. Bell. They wer attended by many friends of the family, and by a delegation of fellow workers from the printing offices of the city, amona whom Mr- Boyd had for years worked.
