CLUB A number of new leather rocker of the Mission design and an elegant settee has just been placed in the parlors of the La Grande Commercial Club. The Club is gaining a new hold upon the public. The membership is how in zees of 160 and several applications are now on file. The Club now controls majority of the stock and within a few year will own the building free from all incumbrances. La Grande certainly has reason to feel proud that such an institution, aside from its public work, has existed as it has. There is not another city in the state, with the possible exception of Portland, that has maintained a similar organization for as many years. While it passed thru several years of rather depressing times, it is now an established and permanent r.tl:ut::r. :?4 iwy stand ready to advance the interests of this county and city. WHAT CONSTITUTES A f AIR TRIAL Patients often spend two or three years uncomplainingly under the car o an m. U., taking whatever drugs or treatment he prescribes, and then decide "to try Osteopathy." After on or two treatments they are ready to quit and announce to the world: "It didn't do m any good." These patients have not tried Osteopathy at all. What the have tried on or two treatment. A husband man might just as well expect his crop after two or three days of plo wing. Under a systematic course of drugging, let u say, such a patient has been per mitted to develop an acute illness; next, the drug treatment with alt its possible accessories has permitted that illness to become chronic and after that it has still failed to restore health.. Following such an experience, the very first "dose" or two of Osteopatpy is expected to work the miracle of an instantaneous curel How very unreasonable! Do not osteo pathic doctor keep admonishing their patient not to expect the impossible to happen and not to forget that Nature, processes work slowly? Why should patients imagine that the Osteopath can restore health any quicker than normal nerve tore and a healthful blood stream can accomplish that benefit? The Osteopath has not yet found any way to work faster than Nature, and those systems of healing that have tried to stimulate vital action by drugs faster than is Nature's wont, end in disappointment and with new damage inflicted. Osteopathy owes its success to the fact that it works with Nature, not against it, and uses no forces but the' natural vital powers of the body, properly directed thru their ordained channels to overcome disease conditions. While many surpris ing and quick cures are made in the ag gregate, they are individually rare. It usually takes time and a thoro course of treatments to get difficult results; hence patients must exercise all due patience. Nor is anyone justified in believing he has given Osteopathy a real trial until a com petent osteopathic practitioner has ex hausted his skill and dismissed the case as incuraue which he will do just as soon as it is possible to make a fair test. 'Cure or greatly benefit a case or else promptly dismiss it," is the osteopathic rule. Osteopathic cures are, hence, the best of all advertisements for this school and its doctor prefer not to surround themselves with cases that do not promise to yield good results. Few cases, indeed under osteopathic care do not yield some results enough to be satisfactory to the patient and to give him hi "money's worth," whether entirely curable or not Osteopathic Health. , When you're broke, the girls are shy They turn and fly when you come nigh Brace up old man, show some pluck Take Rocky Mountain Tea; t will change your luck.
