B. F. Meredith and the new pastor Rev. C. E. Deal. Rev. Meredith leaves Saturday morning for Wesier. which will be his new home, where s situated the Jason Lee A;ademy, the in stitution, the uybuilding of which, will for the next year at least, receive his entire energies, and the best wishes of the en tire congregation go with him for the suc cess of his labors. , Rev. Deal, within the few days he has been here has certainly made a favorable impression with the congregation. His first sermon Sunday evening, was suffic ient to demonstrate that another stron man had been added to the La Grande district, of the Idaho conference and inas much that a change was necessary, those present rejoiced that so able a man had been secured. Rev. Deal is a man of strong person ality, a man who impresses all with whom he comes in contact, that he has an objec in life and that object is the uplifting of mankind. Tue reception was ourelv informal after an hour or more of social mingling, light refreshments were served and a little after ten o'clock those present retired after having spent a pleasant evening.
