St Petersburg, Nov. 28 Announce ment was made todav that the wheat crop, especially in the Black Sea and ooutn tastern districts is the smallest for the past thirty-four years. Seventv-one provinces show the yield to be 16,059. 000,000 pjunis or 250 935.535 bushels, and rye 633.250.000 bushels below th average. Great destitution prevails in the Balkan r.ates and in several )f the Jin erior provinces the peasanes have taken o their beds for days at a time to weaken the pangs of hunger and are mixiniz their scanty supply of Brain with oioweed to make it more filling for bread. Odessa, always a busy gram port, is deserted as no wheat or crops of any kind were, sown in the region of the Dnmnar thi owing to the disturbed state of the country There is no shipping from the ports in the sea of Ayof and thousands of persons are leaving Taganrog and Bostov for the Crimean and South as deatli from star vation stares them in the face in their own provinces. No steps have yet been taken by the authorities to relieve the acuta distress which prevails, but it is plain that if something it not done in the very near future there will be an appall ing exodus of peasants from the country.
