Very heavy rains have fallen in the mountains this week. There has been a sliarhtdelav this wank in the matter of laying steel on the Cen tral Railway, which the Company regrets exceedingly, but owing to the heavv rains the delay could not be avoided. It is the intention of the Company to complete the track to Cove at the earliest possible day, and the material is on hand for the balance of the track to that point.
