At seven o'clock the guests were given an elaborate old fashioned dinner. Following dinne'r, the guests were entertained at five hun dred for which Mrs. Wm. Erickson won first prize. Mrs. E. W. Bartlett had the best representation of hard times and was awarded the prize. Those who went from La Grande were: Mesdames E. W.. Bartlett, Wm. Erickson. Wm. Allison. J. H. Aikine. W. H. Bohnenkamp. SCHEURERS BARNES i-ast evening at 6 o'clock Gerald Clyde Scneurer and Hazel Emira Barnes were quistly united in matrimony by Rev. E. B. Hays. The ceremony was enacted in the John Gardner home with no guests present other than Mr. and Mrs. Gardner. The bride wore cream crepe de chine and was attended by Miss Elizabeth Goeck. The groom wore blak, Wm. Seigrist at tending as b st man. The event wa a vmrv rv ff:r. but several the of the bride's girl friends called after the ceremony to offer congratulations. The bride' is the daughter of Joseph Barnes of Lehi, Utah, and has made her home in this city for the past three jears. During that t'me she has won for herself a large number of intimate friends. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Scheurer who are residing in the Willam ette valley. He has spent the past two years in this city. He is now the proprie tor of the most popular ice cream parlor in La Grande and has a large host of friends, won by his hor.est and broad minded Uctcs in business, ard by his genial disposition outside cf business. The popular bride and groom left this morning on the early train for Spokane and other coast cities. After a wedding tour of tn days tney will return to La Grande and be at home here.
