not but be depressed with the necessi
ty of a change in our present law where

It is a curious thing that while we all
know we must carefully train plants and
anima's, that we can't even neglect
machines without their becoming worth
less, we seem to think the way tc bring
up children is, "to let them grow spon
taneously," as if mere food, clothing,
shelter and good surroundings were suffi
cient and that the line upon line, line upon
line, precept upon precept, prcept upon
precpt, here a little and there a little,"
were no longer needed.
