OOWIK E'LZ Eczema is a tormenting, stubborn TTrHlMfi TNTFNF disease caused by an acid humor in 1 1 I-alaJJEi the blood coming in contact with the skin and producing- redness, inflam mation and almost intolerable itching. An inactive state of the system and sluggish condition of the eliminative members leaves the waste and refuse matter of the body to collect and sour instead of passing them off through nature's channels of bodily waste. The blood in its efforts to purge the sys tem of all foreign matter absorbs this acid and throws it off through the pores and glands of the skin. The acrid humor seems to ooze out and set thefkin on fire, the it'aw colored, sticky fluid drying and forming crusts, and the itching is in ense. When these pustules are scratched off the skin is left raw and fevet. h and often a solid sore is formed and kept up by the constant esrape of a An from the blood. Local applications of salves, pow rlers, lotions etc. an- desirable and should be used because they allay Hit itching and give the sufferer temporary comfort, but are in no sense curative, because they cannot leach the seat of the trouble, which is in the blood tttfJc PURELY VEGETABLE. ct r,if.r,, i-cnmes SOU and finootli again, s. h. .V H mailt M healing, purify, ing t !- l.eil.n and barks that viil not damage any Jtt of the system i!o.. m n diseases and clv medical advice free. "HE SWIFT SPECIFIC CO.. ATIANTA. CA "ON THE BRIDGE AT MIDNIGHT Extraordinary excellence in story, plot and scenery are seldom found in the plays of a melodramatic tinge but the management has succeeded in achieving this rare union as the many thousands who have seen, "On The Bridge at Midnight" are well aware. On the one hand the sensational trash of some melodramas is avoided and on the other hand a whcLsome play is brightened wi'h real comedy, genuine heart interest and an altogether exceptional embellishment of scenery that includes one of the master- ion of the engineering triumph of Chicago its great jack knife or lift draw bridge.
