Washington, Sept 13. The state de
partment advices today indicate that an
attack upon Havana is imminent. Private
dispatches, it is understood, fully confirm
the press reports of the conditions during
the approaching chaos. No apprehension
is felt here as the government is fullv
able to quickly restore order if force is
needed, rive thousand regulars en
camped at Chickamaucra. could be am
barked at Tampa within thirty-six hours
and ready to sail.

BROOKLYN LOSES THE INDIANA '
(Rcrlppt News Association)
Brooklyn N Y.. Sept., 13 In the
changes which are necessary in sending
ships to various navy yards for repairs the
Brooklyn Navy Yard is destined to lose
the United States battleship Indiana,
which has always been regarded in the
distribution of ships to the yards as be
longing to the yards at Philadelphia, when
it is necessary to make periodical repairs
or alterations from time to time. The
Navy Department is now at work on the
schedule for repairs, and will announce
shortly the ships to be sent to the Navy
Yards for docking, cleaning and such
improvements and changes as are rec
ommended. These repairs will rot be
undertaken until after the ships have fin
ished target practice off the New England
coast. As soon as the repairs are made
the Alantic fleet will be recognized, so as
to include the new ships which have been
commissioned and which are now on their
"shaking down" cruises. The fleet will go
next winter to Southern waters, as it
usually does in that season, and there
will be early in the new year the annual
target practice oi the Southern Cuban
ccast. It has been decided not to have
this take place again in home waters in
winter, as the facilities are better in the
West indies. This will be a serious blow
to Ponsaccola interests which have always
prospered by the presence of the ships.

Dr. W. H. Keating, the eye specialist of
Salt Lake, is being kept busy. Many
people are taking advantage of this noted
specialist's visit here to have proper glass
es fitted. The doctor grinds every pair of
glasses ha fits, insuring a perfect fit and
those who have gotten glasses from him
consider his charges very reasonable. The
doctor is not a stranger in the city as he
has been making his yearly visits here for
the last five years. The doctor guaran'
tees any glasses fitted by him to be en
tirely satisfactory and we can vouch for
the fact that he ie thoroughly reliable.
