The nineteenth annual meeting of the Ohio Fall Holiness Association opened today on thecamp meeting grounds on the Silver Hills west of nere. at the terminus of the Lonisvi le and Southern Indiana Traction Company. The grounds are in excellent condition and the attendance is larger than ever before. A large number ef excellent speakers will deliver addresses during the three weeks of the meeting. (Scrippa News Association) Stockton, Cal Aug. 7--Mrs. Emma LeDoux. convicted of murdering her hus band. A. N. McVicar by giving him poison ' and placing his boiy in a trunk, has been . coemned to hingby the neck on Octo- biR 9. The defendant was unmoved by the- sentence. After Mrs. LeDoux had killed her hus band and put his body in a trunk, she ordered the trunk shipped Jack. Cal.. the home of the murdered man. The odor soon lead the police to discover the crime, and in finally arresting Mrs. LeDoux. The prisoner told conflicting stories on the witness stand one being that McVicar took poison, and another being that he was poisoned by a mysterious man culled Joe Miller. The prosecution claimed the motive for the awful crima was that Mrs. LeDoux feared prosecutiou for bigamy. When it would become known that she had not secured a divorce from her form e;sband. McVicar. wien she mimed E'Vifcne LeDoux. Without a tremor the little woman stood the coolest of all in the crowded court room. vhile Judge Nutter passed sen tence, after the court proceedings were over. Mrs. LeDoux redened a bit, but after .v, a few minutes her face resumed its usual exprsjsjpnless appearance. After all ""was over Mrs. Le Doux joined her mother Mrs. Mary Head, in the ante rooms and throwing her hands above her head she uttered a little cry and rushed into the arms of Mrs. Hud. T.ia latter sobbed batrs. Le Ooux shed no tears i-jsiowing the pathet'C scene in the a.i-te-room, the prisoner was led bacK to the . j il. The sheriff vas directed by Judg Nutter to deliver the w jti.an to the custody of the warden at San Quentm prison with in ten gays. During the past months, attorneys for the defense have been tryin, to get a new trial on the plea that one of the leading witnesses forthe prosecution was untruth ful. After considerable delay the sent ence was finally announced. NEW YORK LARGEST IN AREA 'Scrippa New Association t Washington Aug. 7 The census report shows that the city of Naw York has the largest land area. 209.2 la acres. New Orleans comes second with a hundred and seven;y-five thousand. Chicago is third in point of area covered by the city limits. Philatelphia fourth and Duluth, Minnesota is fifth. The total corporate expenditures of 1 4 1 cities will exceed 35C0.00O for the fiscal year. New York paying three tenths. New York is twice as large as Chicigo but her expenses are tour times as great. Boston. Washington. Philadelphia and Baltimore spend the largest amounts after New York in proportion of popula tion. If the report is adopted it will be the first real great step of the congress. The reports preamble expounds the principles of arbitration and points out the fact that a congress is not the proper place to discuss a matter of world wide importance.
