Mr. and Mrs.W. H. Bohnenkamp and
Miss Bessie left last evening to attend
Masonic Grande Lodge. Mrs. Bohnen
kamp is Worthy Matron of the Hope
Chapter No. 9 Eastern Star, of this city.
J. K. Lantz, secretary of the Fruit
Growers Union, of the Cove came over
last night to meet Mr. Holcomb, of the
Oregon Packing Company, to arrange
for the purchase of the cherry crop of
their section of the country.
Grand Secretary Brauer of the Forest
ers lodge is here from Portland and will
be present at the meeting which has been
called for the local lodge of Foresters at
their hall tonight. A big feed is planned
and all Foi esters are requested to be

E. G. Adcook has leased the store rooms
formerly occupied by the La Grande Cash
Store and Bakers Brothers on corner Elm
street and Adams Avenue, and will move
his furniture store to these rooms. He
has taken possession and will soon have
his goods in the new quarters.
Local fishermen are returning from the
various streams and report having had
good success. Union county fishing can
not be excelled in the state. In fact it is
nard to find a particular point of advant
ago which any other portion of the state
