Vote as you pray.
Charity begins at home.
United we stand divided we fall.
The new law providing for cities to
make and amend their own charters is
proper and should receive a large majority
in June.
Remember to vote No on that Barlow
road graft The promoters are the only
ones who will be benefited. The state
has no use for the road.
They've got Puter in the toils of the
law again. Those melancholy initial. S
A. D seem to have been mad just to fit
nis condition.
If Union would spend the time, energy,
and money on enterprise that she does
on county division she would soon be a
thriving city.
The Republican ticket is worthy of
support from top to bottom. Let every
Republican do his duty and there will be
no cause for apology.

ago. Evidently th well-to-do have not
yet found it necessary to scrimp in th
luxuries.
Th handsome monument erected on
th Odd Fellows' lot in Mount Royal
Cemetery, Montreal, Quebec, was un
veiled today a a tribute to the memory
of th departed brothers and th beauti
ful spot dedicated to th purposes of Odd
reuowemp. lira ceremonies in connec
tion with the unveiling and dedication
were performed by th Grand Lodge
officer and Mr. W. H. Hoyl. of Canning
ton, Ont, member for North Ontario in
tli Ontario ' Legislature, delivered the
principal address. Hundreds of members
of the order from other parts of the pro
vince attended the exercises.
Th monument is from an original de
sign, and i mad of Barre granite, with
three bases, die and cap, th All-seeir.g
Eye and three links carved in front, with
the hour glass on the top, supporting th
glob, all of which are emblems of the
order. Th lot, which is beautifully
located, was purchased two year ago by
th city lodges and the monument was
erected by voluntary subscription.
Another effort is being made to secure
a convenient and serviceable postal note,
for sending through the mails small sums
of mony. A bill authorizing this ha
bean submitted to congras by - th post
master-general. Postal notes are among
th thing we need and th bill should by
all means be given careful consideration
at the present session. - The postal notes
would take the place of stamps and loose
money in letters -and would be safer be
cause not transferable. They would be
less expensive than the present money
orders, no fee being 'charged, up to 1 0
cents, and probably not over 2 cents for
the highest denominations, and the notes
would displace money orders only for
sums up to $2.50.
