There is also a collosial limestone fig ure of Amenophis I., who ' reigned about 1700 before Christ, representing the king a the god Osiris, wearing the red and white crown, symbolizing upper and lo wer Egypt. On the back of the statue is a portion of an inscription, which reads; "Amenhetep. beloved of Amen, Lord of the Thrones of the two lanjs, Giving Life." .' ,..'.;, 1WL4!iDRAVY (Scrlppo Newe Association) ''' ' London. May 2 According to official reports Great Britain has at present no less than six battleships, ten armored cruisers, eighteen destroyers and fifteen eub-marine under construction. During the year 1906-7 four armored vessels, seventeen' destroyers and 'twelve sub marines will be commenced. The de signs of the vessels have not yet been determined, and it is, therefore, 'to form an exact idea of the total liability that will be ncurred by ther Admiralty pro posals. As far as can be gathered from the cost of recent corresponding types, however, the large amount $40,000,000 will be absorbed as the aggregate cost of these vesselsj and the sole provision made during 1906-7 to . meet this ex penditur amounts to about $3,000,000 which is roughly one twelfth of the total COSt.. ,,,'...' it ' : : THETA SIGMA SORORITY (Script) Newe Association) Schenectady, N.
