Randall the Republics candid ate for sheriff has been a resident of this county for the past thirty years and the clean campaign txi put up during the primaries is characteristic of the mat. He owns a fine farm in what is term;d the Lower Cove and when elected as he will surely be will give the county an admin istration second to none. Ha is a man of resolution and firmness; with excellent judgement and every one irrespective of condition will receive courteous treatment and protection, consistent with their rights. Mr. Randall will make a clean and progressive campaign and will re caive a large majority. Few men have a wider acquaintance throughout Union county than J. C Henry, the republican nominee for county judge, having settled in this valley thirty years ago. For the first two years he followed his occupation, being a carpenter and then entered into the employment of the general merchandise store of W. J. Snoderass where he remained continuously fir 14 years, when in 1892 he embarked in the furniture business for himself and succeed ed in building one of the larges'. furniture stores in Eastern Oregon. He has been honored with many posi tions of trust. For eight years he was a member of the city council and was mayor for two terms. He served as a member of the school board for several years. He was captain of the La Grande malitia for quite a while, in fact has always done his part whenever called upon.
