Confectionery and Cigars OPPOSITION TO LABOR TRUST The proposed activity of organized labor In I u . ..... another organization, the citizens' in dustrial association, which claims a membership of approximately 8,600,000 workers, which is going into politics too, according to C. W. Post, its president. Mr. Post says that the citizens of this country will just as surely put a labor trust candidate into oblivion as the avowed reprernjative of that trust and not of the pebpYe aytfhey -would, or at least should, defeat represve of ex press, railroad, or oil tru'st ''mterests. Anyone who is a good citizen has not- judice against organized labor. There are but few of the citizens in this country who are not workers. The fact that workers in certain employments are organized into trade unions does not prove that they work harder or are en titled to special consideration above the rest of the people. Broad minded men have and will insist that the high offices shall be filled by men who represent no class or trust or organization, but represent their country and all its people. It is an old fight and we shall never see the end of it, that be tween capital and labor. It is not sur prising that it should appear in this form in politics. It will be interesting to see how it develops. Improves the flavor and adds to the heal th fulness of the food TABLE BOARDERS Mrs. Grace Barrie would like six table boarders at No. 1 808, 4th. Oyama was the military genius commanding the Japanese land forces in the war against Russia and has taken rank by his achievements with the greatest commanders in history of the world. He is an old man now. Kodama is little known in America. He was of humble birth and while he rose to a high position in the army, did not get himself talked about much by the people. When the war came on with Russia he somehow knew more about the navy and army and all the details of equipment than any other man in Japan. Now we are told, he was the power behind the throne all through the war, who told the field marshals and general what to do, He had the rank of lieutenant-general and was assistant-chief of the general staff while Oyama was chief and Marshal Yamagato was supposed, at least outside Japan, to be a greater military man than Kodama. Now it appears that his was the brain that really directed the war. the success of which proved his great ness.
