"" PRACTICE PLEASES ALL Captain Siegristand Manager Heisner are jubilant over the showing ' made bv the candidates for positions oa the team yesterday. Whether or not it was be cause they had their new suits on is hard to tell, but the practice was good enough to cause Captain Segrist to say this morning that "It was fine . and dandy" It is very likely that the first matched game will be ' between Elgin and La Grande here next Sunday. After the practice Wednesday, the line-up of the team will be given out ' Gregory the Walla Walla Twiler did some fine work and described curves and straight ones that puzzled even the best hitters in the team, Betzel the Eastern man showed a great improvment over the showing made over a week ago, and from present indications these two men will constitute a pitching force as good as there is in any amateurs team. BOY ATHLETES TO MEET Boys Interested in juvenile track work Should attend the meeting at the M. E. church tonight at 7:30. The team is to be organized and complete arrangements made for the coming season. BOOSTERS FINALLY WIN The run of luck that the Yellow Kids of Athena has had this season was stopped last Saturday when the Boosters at Walla Walla defeated them by the big score of 1 to 4. The great Boston Horse Show, which promises to be one of the greatest sporting and soci ety events of the season, will open in Mechanics Building . this evening.; For weeks preparations for the event have been going on and when the show is thrown open to the public this evening, it will be one of the most gorgeous and in teresting sights ever seen in this city. The number of entries has beaten every previous reccrd and never before has there been such a large display of fins horses in this city as there will be during this week. Many of the most prominent owners of fine horses in the East are rep resented this year. , BIG WRESTLING TOURNAMENT (Scrlpps News Association) Montreal, Que, April 16 The wrest ling tournament for international heavy weight championship opens here tonight and will last four days. Nearly three thousand dollars are offered as prizes and a large number of the most promi nent heavyweight wrestlers of Canada and the United States are entered for the championship contests. The winner of the championship will receive a belt and $600 in cash. There will be eight prizes, running down to $100. The reasonable expenses of all the wrestlers taking part in the tourna.nent will be paid.
