Fair Treatment of Other Candidates Ivanhoe's Supporters United An Observer repoiter met Col. Ivan hoe on the street today, and inquired about his campaign fur District Attorney Hs seemed wiiimg to be interviewed, and went hastily over the situaiion. He has carefully canvassed both counties, and his judgment is based upon an actual inspec tion of the whole field. Speiking of his supparters, he said: 'I have had the op portunity of talking pmonslly with most of my old time friends and clionts, and loyalty is in keeping with what I expected. They are united and perfectly confidant of my nomination. They make up the great bulk of the party in both counties. They take no stock In the cheap attempt to ar ray one section of the district against another. The universal sentiment is to place the most suitable man on the ticket for all offices and make the test of exper ience stand above that of experiment.' In referring to the methods of campaign. the Col. said: "1 am making no criticism of any man's campaign. He must be re. sponsible for that himself. I am opposed to unfair methods or untruthful state ments. I will not, even by newspaper in sinuations, resort, whether provoked or not, to the level of the mud-slingsr, of any form of . scurrility. No, : 1 will not even attempt to be funny. I am running upon my merits, if I have any; and, if I have none, I should not be nominated. I am appealing to no class or section, and if elected to the office of District Attorney, I will not be the district attorney of any class or section, but of the whole -district, and for all the people. I would rather treat all parties right, than to mistreat any one. If my long practice among the people of the two counties is not sufficient guaranty of my merits, I know of ho way, and do not desire to deceive them. Per sonally, 1 have little to offer In the way of a metnod for a campaign, only that 1 do not desire an untruthful statement made of either myself or any one else; and hope all will use what they know, and investi gate what they hear, in arriving at a choice. If elected, I shall use my best ability to so enforce all law, as to lessen crime and public expense. I can't promise to do more." A Puiy Swiioiu fo- Buy Pp .
