Invita tions were sent several days ago. to the managers of the other associations in the county, and it te thought at least several will be present at the meeting tonight The chief object of the proposed organiza tion is to advertise Umatilla county, and most of the energies of the league will be directed that way. That the O. R. & N. will grant trans portation tor two men to run between of advertising the county, is stated in a letter which Leon Cohen has just received from J. P. O'Brien, general manager of the company. " At the meeting held here several days ago the matter of placing two men on the road between here and some point east was discussed. It was suggested that by such action tha inducements of the county could be presented to the homeseekers now coming on almost every train from the east Mr. Cohen .was .authorized to ask If transportation would be furnished gratis by the railroad company, and the reply has been favorable. When the school insists on these same deficiencies being correoted, and eliminated from the child'e life and char-j actor,' there are those who protest and say the school is "too particular."
